Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy for the
"NEW MONSTER GENERAL ELECTION" Special Website
Effective Date: September 16, 2026 (Wednesday)
Operator: TOHO CO., LTD. (hereinafter "we," "us," or "our")
In operating the "NEW MONSTER GENERAL ELECTION" special website (hereinafter the "Site"), we handle users’ information as described below. Before using the Site, please review this Policy and use the Site only if you agree to its contents.
In addition, we have separately established the TOHO CO., LTD. Privacy Policy (https://www.toho.co.jp/privacy-policy/) governing the handling of personal information across our business generally. This Policy governs the handling of personal information and related information in connection with the Site; for matters not addressed in this Policy, the TOHO CO., LTD. Privacy Policy shall apply.
Article 1 (Information We Collect)
When users use the voting feature, the Site collects the following information.
- Identifiers generated by Cookies and similar technologies (used to determine whether the once-per-day voting limit applies).
- Regional information estimated from the IP address (limited to units such as country and region/prefecture/state; we do not collect detailed location information such as GPS data).
- Age bracket (10s, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, or similar categories) and gender, which users select and input themselves.
- Voting content (the character voted for and the date/time of the vote).
- Access logs recorded by the Site's application, such as browser type, OS, and access date/time (not including IP addresses).
- Access logs, including the source IP address, recorded by the servers (EC2) and load balancer (ALB) used to operate the Site (used solely for the purpose of countering unauthorized access and investigating faults).
- Cookie identifiers, pages viewed, referrer, connection date/time, device information, and similar data transmitted via Google Analytics (an access analysis service provided by Google LLC) (see Article 4 for details).
The IP address sent from a user's device at the time of voting is used instantaneously within the system to estimate the regional information described in item 2 above, and is not retained for that purpose once this processing is complete. Separately, as described in item 6 above, the access logs of the servers and load balancer used to operate the Site record the source IP address for the purpose of countering unauthorized access and investigating faults, and are retained for the period set out in Article 6.
None of the information described in items 1 through 6 above is collected in combination with information that could identify a specific individual, such as a name or email address.
Article 2 (Purposes of Use)
We use the information we collect for the following purposes.
- To provide the Site's voting feature and to determine whether the once-per-day voting limit applies.
- To tabulate voting results, and to tabulate and analyze such results by attribute, including age bracket, gender, and regional information estimated from IP addresses.
- To detect, prevent, and invalidate fraudulent voting (such as multiple voting or mechanical/automated voting).
- To counter unauthorized access and to investigate the cause of system faults.
- To analyze usage of the Site in order to improve convenience and content.
- To respond to inquiries regarding the Site.
- Where necessary to comply with laws and regulations, or to protect our rights and interests.
The tabulation and analysis described in items 2 and 3 of the preceding paragraph are conducted in a form that does not identify specific individuals (statistical information).
Article 3 (Use of Cookies, etc.)
- The Site uses strictly necessary Cookies to determine the voting limit. Because this Cookie is essential to providing the Site’s functionality, we do not seek separate consent for its use. Users may disable this Cookie via their browser settings; however, doing so will result in an error at the time of voting, and the voting feature will not be available.
- In addition to the above, the Site uses Google Analytics (an access analysis service provided by Google LLC) to analyze usage, and in connection with this, uses Cookies to obtain device information and similar data about users. For details of the information transmitted, please see Articles 1 and 4 of this Policy. Please note that the Site does not use Cookies for advertising purposes.
- Users may disable the use of Cookies via their browser settings; however, as described in the preceding paragraphs, this may result in the voting feature being unavailable or in information no longer being collected for analytical purposes. Users who wish to individually opt out of data collection by Google Analytics may use the "Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on" provided by Google.
Article 4 (External Transmission and Provision to Third Parties)
- We will not provide the information we collect to third parties beyond the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use set out in Article 2.
-
This shall not apply, however, in the following cases:
- Where required by law;
- Where necessary to protect the life, body, or property of a person and it is difficult to obtain the individual's consent; or
- Where we provide information to a subcontractor (such as for system development/maintenance or access analysis) within the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use (in which case we will exercise appropriate oversight of the subcontractor).
- The Site uses Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC (located in the United States of America), for access analysis. Information collected in this connection is transmitted to Google LLC in the United States of America and handled in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). Please refer to information published by Google LLC for an overview of the personal information protection system in the United States and the measures Google LLC has implemented. We have configured Google Analytics so that it does not transmit information that could identify a specific individual, such as a name or email address. The Site does not transmit Cookies or similar data to third parties for advertising purposes.
Article 5 (Security Control Measures)
We implement the necessary and appropriate measures for security control, including the prevention of leakage, loss, or damage of the information we collect.
Article 6 (Retention Period)
Voting data (including Cookie identifiers, regional information, age bracket, gender, voting content, and application access logs) will be deleted once the period necessary for tabulation and other purposes (approximately three months) has elapsed following the end of this campaign.
Access logs of the servers (EC2) and load balancer (ALB) used to operate the Site (including the source IP address) are retained for the purpose of countering unauthorized access and investigating faults for the duration of the contract period for this campaign, and are deleted upon deletion of the servers after the contract ends.
Article 7 (Use by Minors)
Because the Site allows users to select an age bracket that includes those in their teens, users who are minors may use the Site; however, minors should obtain the consent of a parent or guardian in advance before using the Site.
Article 8 (Requests for Disclosure, etc.)
For requests regarding the disclosure, correction, or suspension of use of personal information, please contact the point of contact set out in the TOHO CO., LTD. Privacy Policy. Please note that, because information collected on the Site is collected and used in a form that does not identify a specific individual, there may be no information corresponding to your request.
Article 9 (Changes to This Policy)
We may change the contents of this Policy as necessary. The revised Policy shall take effect upon being posted on the Site.
